THE goal....

Hello, my name is Andrea and I am a weight watchers "aholic". In the last 10 years I have joined WW over 10 times and lost the SAME 10 pounds each time. That is a lot of 10's considering if I would have lost a different 10 pounds each of those 10 times, I would weigh 100 pounds less than I do now and be dead....cuz I don't need to lose that much weight... However, I didn't lose a different 10lbs....I have yo-yo'd with my weight since 1993 when at my ideal weight, I met my husband and started to gain what has amounted to 33.4 lbs in 16 years!

As if that isn't painful enough, during my annual physical this year, I was diagnosed with not one, but TWO diseases...Hypothyroidism and High Cholesterol...sooo what that means to me is, get healthy or die. Not good choices, but if I have to pick one, I guess it will be get healthy. For my children, my husband, my family and friends who still want me around. :) The first thing I did was quit smoking on November 6th...and though I only had this nasty secret habit for 5 years, quitting was tough! I was a complete bitch to my family and friends, but I did it! ....that is a whole other blog post...The next thing is to lose the weight!

So the goal, on the eve year of turning 40, I have decided to stop the madness and take off 40lbs before I am 40. Now that momentous date is over 365 days away (see countdown below), but I want to be realistic. I might not even NEED to lose 40 pounds, but close enough. According to WW, you should start with small goals, like 5% of my weight which is 9lbs, and then 10% of my weight which is 17lbs...yes, you can do the math.

I started this blog to be honest with myself and to keep myself honest. I am going to post my weekly weigh in's, challenges, and successes. I am also going to post any helpful hints I find so those few WW readers who happen to stumble across this silly blog can use them.

It is a new decade, a new year, and a whole new me!
Yeah me!
